Shortly after, Gaga confirmed the announcement on social media.
Prior to this announcement, Gaga’s website featured a seven-day countdown, that culminated in the reveal of the album
In a press statement, she expressed that this album would be a return to her pop music roots.
“The album began with me confronting my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved,” Gaga stated. “Even if you can’t put the pieces back together perfectly, you can still create something beautiful and whole in its own unique way.”
In an interview with Vogue, she explained how the album would bring back the darker pop music she began her career with.
“When I write, produce, and sing songs, I am always drawing upon my knowledge of the history of music, and the many artists and producers who came before me,” Gaga stated. “In that way, this album is a celebration of a lot of the music that made me who I am, because when I returned to a darker pop style of pop, all my early experiences with music came out.”
This album comes five years after the release of Chromatica, in 2020.
“Disease,” one of Gaga’s latest singles, will feature on the album alongside “Die With A Smile,” which she recorded with Bruno Mars.
