Dressed in a cropped black sequin suit and tie, she opened with a nod to her “Short n’ Sweet Tour,” performing in an elevated version of her stage penthouse. After a few playful struggles to find the spotlight and an endearing attempt at baton twirling, Carpenter launched into a sultry jazz rendition of “Espresso.”

A cheeky costume change revealed a baby blue bodysuit adorned with a tiered jeweled necklace, seamlessly transitioning the song back to its original upbeat tempo. The show-stopping performance featured a lively tap dance break, adding to the vaudeville feel.

As she moved into a smaller, house-like set, Carpenter draped herself in a feather boa for “Please Please Please,” effortlessly switching between the two singles.

Carpenter was nominated for six awards, including four in the coveted “Big 4” categories. Even before the ceremony began, she had already secured her first Grammy, winning Best Pop Vocal Performance for “Espresso,” a milestone that made her debut Grammy night all the more memorable. Remember when “Espresso,” was just “a little song” she wanted to drop before Coachella?

During the ceremony, she also took home the trophy for Best Pop Vocal Album, delivering a tearful acceptance speech in which she thanked her label, team, and family for their unwavering support. Fans were ecstatic to see Carpenter finally receive her well-deserved flowers after six albums and a decade in the industry.
