Khloé Kardashian Responds to the Comment Her Former Husband Made
Lamar Odom called ex wife Khloé Kardashian his “wife” during their first reunion since the 2016 divorce.
After a month of dating, the couple married in 2009. Their marriage failed due to his struggle with substance abuse and infidelity. Kardashian filed for divorce in 2013 but remained by Odom’s side to support his recovery after his near-fatal overdose in 2015. In 2016, their divorce was finalized.
The Good American founder reunited with ex husband, Lamar Odom on season 6 of The Kardashians. The basketball player appeared on screen, jokingly stating, “My wife is the s–t.” The model laughed it off before replying, “Okay, let’s calm down.”
During an interview on the show, Kardashian reflected on her past relationship with Odom. She stated, “I have dealt with so much trauma in this relationship. For years, this was such the love of my life that to learn how to un-love someone, to have to go through all that, it’s almost like a death.” The mother of two addressed her ex’s comment, “So, him calling me his ‘wife,’ words are empty. I don’t know this person anymore.”
In September 2016, rumors arose regarding the reality star’s relationship with basketball player Tristan Thompson. In 2018, the pair welcomed their first child, True Thompson. However, it was later revealed that he had cheated on her while she was in labor. The Cleveland player even welcomed another child into the world with another women. In 2022, the couple had a second child, Tatum Thompson, via surrogacy.
In his memoir, Darkness to Light, Odom opened up about the struggles in his marriage. He shared, “At the start of our marriage I was faithful to her,” he wrote. “I could not handle the lethal cocktail of the spotlight, addiction, a diminishing career and infidelity. Oh, did I mention the paranoia, anxiety, depression.”
Odom reflected on his past mistakes, stating he “could have been more of a man.”
