Pete Davidson removes over 100 tattoos and looks unrecognizable in photos for a clothing brand, Reformation, starring as the “Official Boyfriend.”

Davidson, 31, showcased his freshly cleared skin after revealing in January that he had removed over 100 tattoos from his body.

“I got sober, and I saw myself in the mirror, and I was like, ‘Nah.’ I was like, ‘I need to change it up a little bit,'” he stated.

In one photo for the February ad campaign, which crowns him “The official boyfriend of Reformation,” the comedian flashed a smile while dressed in white underwear, a white T-shirt, and white sneakers.

Other photos feature him relaxing shirtless in low-rise slacks and sporting an “official boyfriend” crewneck paired with an animal-print purse.

The actor’s collaboration with the brand also includes a video, written and directed by Matthew Frost, where he demonstrates why he deserves the title of boyfriend of the year. “I’m someone’s boyfriend, and I take that seriously,” he states in the video before a sequence unfolds in which he exemplifies the textbook definition of the perfect partner.

A source revealed that the tattoo removal represents a new chapter for the SNL star, who “has been sober since September and gained 20 pounds.”

“Things are going really well for him,” an insider told PEOPLE. “Things are heading in the right direction, and he’s receiving excellent reviews for [his movie Dog Man].”

Dog Man is in theaters now; grab your tickets here.
