The pop star has joined a growing movement of supporting musician well-being by matching Chappell Roan’s $25,000 donation to the “We Got You” campaign. Created by the Union of Musicians and Allied Workers (UMAW), the campaign is dedicated to funding mental health resources for artists. It aims to create a safer and more sustainable music industry. Because of the increasing pressures from touring, financial instability, and the demands of the industry, many musicians struggle with their mental health. Carpenter’s donation, along with those of other artists, has brought attention to the urgent need for better support systems within the music community.

Chappell Roan, known for her theatrical performances and recent rise to fame, has been vocal about the mental health challenges musicians face. Despite her growing success, she understands how difficult it can be to navigate the industry while maintaining personal well-being. The movement first began after Roan called out record labels for not providing health insurance to their artists. Then, on February 10, the singer officially partnered with the non-profit in order to back this project. When she donated $25,000 to the campaign, she called on fellow artists to do the same. Her initiative quickly gained traction, inspiring others to contribute, such as Charli XCX, Noah Kahan, and even some record company CEOs.

With other musicians matching the “Pink Pony Club” singer’s donation the campaign’s impact has been significantly increased. Their contributions highlight the importance of mental health awareness in the music industry, reinforcing that no artist should have to struggle alone. The growing support for “We Got You” reflects a shift in the industry—one that prioritizes the well-being of the people behind the music. By stepping up, these artists are helping to build a future where musicians can thrive, both creatively and mentally.
