IFPI New Top Global Singles, Sabrina Carpenter, Teddy Swims and More
It seems 2024 was the year for new artists as Benson Boone, Sabrina Carpenter, Teddy Swims, and others placed high up on the IFPI Global Single Chart.
Benson Boone won the IFPI Global Single Award for his hit song, “Beautiful Things.” The award is given to the best-selling song across all platforms and formats. The track, released in January 2024, won awards at the MTV Video Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Los 40 Music Awards, and NRJ Music Awards.

Boone won Best New Artist at the MTV Europe Music Awards and also received a Best New Artist nomination at the 2025 Grammys. This is his first top 10 appearance on an IFPI chart.
“We are delighted to present the IFPI Global Single Award to Benson Boone,” stated Victoria Oakley, CEO of IFPI. “As a global breakout artist, this is an amazing achievement to produce a worldwide hit.”
The “In The Stars” singer was not the only new artist to score big on the chart. In fact, four of the top five songs came from emerging artists.
Sabrina Carpenter secured the second spot with “Espresso,” and Teddy Swims won third with “Lose Control.” This is the first time both artists have appeared on this chart. Carpenter also claimed 14th with “Please Please Please.”

“It is also fantastic to see so many other newcomers to the industry shine through in the IFPI Global Singles Chart,” Oakley stated. “It is a wonderful reflection of how emerging artists — working in partnership with their record labels — are finding international success.”
Billie Eilish placed fourth with “BIRDS OF A FEATHER,” and rounding out the top five was “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey.
IFPI’s Global Recording Artist of the Year also made an appearance on the chart. Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer,” which had a comeback in popularity last year with the Eras Tour, placed ninth.

Hozier was the only non-American artist to make the chart this year. The Irish-born singer secured sixth place with “Too Sweet.” In 2015, he placed nineteen with “Take me to Church.”
