NMIXX Teases Their New EP Fe3O4: Forward

NMIXX is set to make their highly anticipated return with their fourth EP, Fe3O4: Forward, scheduled for release on March 17.

This marks the group’s first comeback in seven months since their last release. The announcement was made on February 18 with a motion poster, the first teaser for the EP.

The teaser presents a scene of an airport security checkpoint. Various symbolic items—including a butterfly, a cube, a black stake, a star, and a conch shell—are placed in security trays.

Once scanned, the phrase “Towards the Utopia, Together with NMIXX” appears on the security machine’s screen, alluding to the group’s conceptual journey towards an unknown but promising destination.

The following day, NMIXX released a futuristic-looking promotional schedule on their official SNS accounts, outlining key events leading up to the EP’s launch.

The post, captioned “The voyage of adventurous girls,” reveals a series of teasers and content drops leading up to the EP’s release on March 17. Fans can anticipate a tracklist reveal, story films, performance visualizers, and a mysterious “New Ship Project: MMU” with its “Departure Announcement”—possibly referencing the ship featured in the Fe3O4: Forward visual film, The Dawn of Departure.

Other highlights include an animation story film, a commentary video exploring the journey of Fe3O4: Forward, and two highlight medleys.

The rollout concludes with two title track music video teasers before the EP’s release.

The previously mentioned visual film, “The Dawn of Departure,” provides a closer look at the members’ individual styles for this comeback. Each member features in their own film, showcasing their unique aesthetics before all six come together in a joint visual film.

Set against the backdrop of a large wooden ship with towering masts, the members embody a modern pirate look, reinforcing the theme of adventure and exploration.

Their outfits include a combination of long coats and fitted jackets with asymmetrical cuts, weathered fabrics, skirts with uneven hems, and draped elements.

Knee-high boots with buckles and laces complete the look, while dramatic eye makeup and tousled or braided hair add to the rebellious, seafaring aesthetic.

The teaser visuals strongly suggest that Fe3O4: Forward will center around an epic voyage, as NMIXX embarks on their next musical journey.

As the teasers unfold, fans can look forward to an immersive experience leading to the EP’s release. NMIXX is ready to chart new territory, blending captivating storytelling, stunning visuals, and their signature sound.
