Angie Stone, the soul and R&B singer known for hits like “No More Rain (In This Cloud),” passed away on Saturday morning in a car accident.

Early Saturday morning, she was tragically killed while returning to Atlanta from Alabama when the vehicle she was in was struck by a semi.

On Monday, her family issued a statement through the Weems Firm, located in Atlanta.

“It is with deep sorrow that the children of R&B singer Angie Stone, along with her extended family, express their gratitude for your love and well wishes during this incredibly challenging time.”

“Angie Stone’s voice and spirit will remain eternal in the hearts of all those she touched,” her spokesperson stated. The statement continued, “The family will announce details regarding memorial services in due time.”

Throughout her decades-long career, Stone released a total of 10 solo albums and earned three Grammy nominations, including Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals in 2003 and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance in 2004.

In recognition of her contributions, she was inducted into the Women Songwriters Hall of Fame last year.

“I was self-taught. I was hungry, I was thirsty, I was ambitious,” Stone stated at the time, per CNN. “It’s having that bug that says, ‘I’m a rubber band. You can stretch me but I won’t pop. I’m going to always do me.’ “

Footage captured from TMZ shows the aftermath of the collision, as the truck appeared to have driven on the opposite side of the highway, striking Stone’s van.

The singer is survived by her daughter Ladi, son Michael (whom she had with D’Angelo), and two grandchildren.
