Chappell Roan Announces Official Release Date for New Single ‘The Giver’
Chappell Roan finally announced her new song, “The Giver,” will be released next Thursday, March 13.
After her exclusive performance with the iconic Elton John at his famous AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Party, the singer took to Instagram on Tuesday to announce the soon release of “The Giver.”
Roan debuted the song in November when she performed on Saturday Night Live. Last month, the Midwest Princess began to promote the single on campy billboards and posters. There she advertised calling the number (620)-HOT-TOGO, also known as (620)-468-8646. Calling the number asks the caller to press the respective numbers to communicate with a dentist, attorney, plumber, construction worker, or private investigator, which all lead to different sound bites of “The Giver.”
Based on the song’s “She gets the job done” lyric, the hotline, billboards, and posters have featured the “Pink Pony Club” singer as each of the jobs mentioned. In February, Roan announced the first vinyl variant cover of the song, the lawyer variant, before later announcing the variants for the plumber, private investigator, and construction worker, available now for pre-order.

“The Giver” will be a part of her sophomore album, yet to be named.
The artist stated, “I have such a special place in my heart for country music. I grew up listening to it every morning and afternoon on my school bus and had it swirling around me at [bonfires,] grocery stores and karaoke bars. [R]ight now I’m just making songs that make me feel happy and fun.”
The song’s genre may be unexpected for some fans, but the Grammy award-winner has mentioned her ties to country in the past with her name coming from her grandfather’s favorite song, the cowboy classic “The Strawberry Roan.”
“Your favorite artist’s favorite artist” has truly lived up to her catchphrase this past year. She kicked off this year performing and winning the Grammy for Best New Artist. This past Saturday, she also took home the BRIT Award for International Artist of the Year and International Song of the Year. Her fans can’t wait for her new song to be released, eagerly anticipating Roan’s newest era.
Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait much longer, as the single will be released next week on March 13 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. The vinyl variants are available now for pre-order and are set to ship on August 18.
