Jordan Chiles and Jade Carey Are New Barbies
Olympic gymnasts Jordan Chiles and Jade Carey have long been known as a powerhouse duo and now, they’re celebrating a new milestone becoming Barbie dolls.
In honor of International Women’s Day, Mattel has recognized their achievements by creating dolls inspired by them, symbolizing the strength of friendship and the power of representation.
Chiles and Carey are joining along list of honorees, including Ted Lasso stars Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple, Australian tennis legends Evonne Goolagong Cawley and Ash Barty, and Brazilian models Paola Antonini and Kelen Ferreira. This initiative celebrates women who inspire the next generation to dream big.
Carey stated that the moment felt surreal. “It’s a little kid’s dream come true,” she shared. “Jordan and I have experienced firsthand how much easier the journey is with support and friendship. Being part of this campaign with Barbie is an incredible honor.”

Their dolls wear outfits inspired by iconic performances including Carey’s emerald green bedazzled unitard and Chiles’ colorful, Beyoncé-inspired ensemble from the 2024 U.S. Gymnastics Championships.
Chiles called it a full-circle moment. “Especially on International Women’s Day, this means so much. As an African-American athlete, it’s an opportunity to show young girls they can achieve anything,” she stated.

Beyond the dolls, the gymnasts emphasize supporting women every day. Chiles loves giving flowers to her friends to brighten their day, while Carey prides herself on being a steady source of encouragement.
The two had a crucial role in Team USA’s gold medal victory at the 2024 Summer Olympics alongside Simone Biles, Suni Lee, and Hezly Rivera. They also achieved personal milestones, overcoming obstacles along the way. Carey battled illness before securing bronze in the vault final, while Chiles faced controversy after her floor routine medal was revoked. Through it all, their support for one another remained a source of strength.
They hope their Barbie dolls inspire young girls to chase their dreams. “If she can do it, I can do it”. “It’s about writing your own story, surrounding yourself with the right people, and always believing you are that girl,” stated Chiles.
The dolls aren’t available for purchase at the moment.
