Justin Bieber Squashes Fan Health Rumors with New Post
Justin Bieber is reassuring fans over health concerns through posting a cryptic message on Instagram.
On Saturday, March 8, Bieber posted on his story in all caps stating:
“We have nothing to prove today.”
“Just the gift of life today to accept and receive,” the star continued. “Nothing is owed to us and we don’t owe anyone anything.”
Beiber, who welcomed his son Jack Blues with his wife, Hailey Baldwin Bieber, in August, initially raised health concerns and fueled drug use rumors among fans after they observed apparent changes in his physical appearance and behavior in February.
In a statement released by TMZ on Febuary 23, a representative for the couple dismissed the rumors, clarifying that the claims about the singer’s health and drug use were untrue.
They explained that the past year had been “very transformative” for the singer, as he ended several close friendships and business relationships that no longer benefited him.
According to TMZ, the star faced a lot of criticism for his appearance when he was photographed in New York earlier this month, with red eyes and dark circles, which led fans to speculate that drugs might be the cause.
According to sources, he hadn’t slept due to recording all night, which explained why he looked a bit disheveled when he stepped out to get some fresh air. He had also spent part of the evening comforting his son, who was having trouble falling asleep.
The singer has been vulnerable about smoking marijuana at the age of 12 or 13, explaining that peer pressure impacted his decisions.
“I was young, like everybody in the industry, or in the world, who experiment,” he stated, referring to drugs as his escape. “But my experience was in front of cameras and I had a different level of exposure. I had a lot of money and a lot of things, so then you have all these people around me hanging on and wanting stuff from me, knowing I was living this lifestyle that they also wanted to live.”
Beiber became sober more than ten years ago in 2014. While he occasionally drinks alcohol, he has managed to quit using prescription pills and other hard substances.
It appears that all is well and he is growing tired of people speculating about his health.
