Bad Bunny released a new music video for his song “LA MuDANZA” from his latest album, DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, released in January. The album has achieved great success, reaching the top spot on the Billboard 200 and surpassing a billion streams on Spotify, breaking records.

“LA MuDANZA,” the final track on the album, has garnered over 82.5 million streams. Adored by fans, it’s no surprise that the Puerto Rican singer decided to produce a music video for the track. As a gift to himself and his fans, he released the video on his birthday, March 10. Turning 31, what better way to celebrate a new chapter than with those who admire and cherish him?

The music video begins with childhood photos, including images of him as a young child, his mother, and other loved ones. It then transitions to scenes of a young couple with an infant, clearly representing his parents.

As the musician sings in the background, “Un aplauso pa’ mami y papi porque en verda’ rompieron,” meaning, “A round of applause for mom and dad ’cause they really nailed it.” In an unexpected twist, the camera pans to the newborn as he begins lip-syncing to the song.

Midway through the video, the singer is seen running through a field, carrying the Puerto Rican flag while being chased—a powerful visual representation of his lyric: “Aquí mataron gente por sacar la bandera / Por eso es que ahora yo la llevo donde quiera, cabrón, ¿qué fue?” which translates to, “Here, people were killed for raising the flag, that’s why I carry it everywhere, man, what’s up?” The video ultimately concludes with a celebration of Puerto Rican culture with photos of the country’s difficult times and present-day appearance.

The music video beautifully showcases the singer’s deep appreciation for his country and family. “LA MuDANZA” tells the love story of his parents and highlights what it meant for him to be raised within Puerto Rican culture.

DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, is a musical tribute to his love for Puerto Rico. Tracks like BAILE INoLVIDABLE” capture the pain of lost love, blending heartfelt lyrics with a beautiful Puerto Rican salsa beat. Meanwhile, LA MuDANZA highlights how his Puerto Rican heritage remains deeply ingrained in him.

Despite fame and fortune, he passionately sings, De aquí nadie me saca, de aquí yo no me muevo, Dile que esta es mi casa donde nació mi abuelotranslates as No one will kick me out of here, I’m not going anywhere. Tell them this is my home, where my grandfather was born.” The lyrics serve as a heartfelt promise to his island, reaffirming his dedication to his roots and his unwavering connection to his heritage.

The video visually conveys the lyrics, further emphasizing the meaning behind the words. With each new album, Bad Bunny continues to be a symbol of pride for the island of Puerto Rico.
