JADE and Tate McRae to Perform at This Year’s BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend Festival
The official lineup for BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend has been unveiled, featuring standout performances from artists including JADE and Tate McRae.
The BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend festival takes place in different areas of the United Kingdom each year and has featured iconic artists such as Rihanna and Lady Gaga. This year’s festival will occur in Liverpool from Friday, May 23, to Sunday, May 25.
JADE, former member of Little Mix, will be performing on Sunday at the Radio 1 New Music Stage. JADE’s debut solo single, “Angel of My Dreams,” was released last year and was nominated for Best Song of the Year at the BRIT Awards. The singer went on to win a BRIT Award in the category of Best Pop Act earlier this year.
The now award-winning solo artist has created more music and is releasing her new song “FUFN (F**k You For Now) this Friday. Fans are excited to watch her solo career continue to grow and her upcoming festival performance.
One fan wrote, “JADE is joining in big festival [lineups] left and right, going fashion weeks, doing collab[s] with Fendi, Instagram… These things are so huge! She is doing these things in her 6th month solo career! I’m so [emotional] and I’m so proud of Jade. She [deserves] all of these opportunities!”
Tate McRae will also perform on the same day at the Radio 1 Main Stage. The “greedy” singer released her new album, So Close to What, last month. McRae’s music career has been growing steadily, especially after her hit “greedy.” She shared how it’s impacted her latest album.
She stated, “Being in the public eye, I feel like that’s affected a lot of these songs and… I feel like for the first time I’ve also just like figured out who I am as a person, like, officially, and know what my values are and what I want in life.”
