Tracy Morgan sent out a health update to his fans on March 18 after being escorted out of Madison Square Garden (MSG) in a wheelchair midway through the third quarter of a New York Knicks game the day before.

The comedian revealed he was sick with food poisoning and assured fans he was on the mend. “Thank you for all your concern! I’m doing ok now, and doctors say it was food poisoning,” he shared on Instagram. “I appreciate my MSG family for taking such good care of me, and I need to shout out to the crew that had to clean that up. I appreciate you!”

The 56-year-old was referring to the moment he was taken to the hospital for throwing up and suffering a nosebleed while sitting courtside for the Knicks vs Miami Heat game. The 30 Rock actor is a die-hard fan and always sits courtside next to the MSG network broadcasters. Due to Morgan’s medical episode, the game was delayed by 10 minutes, with six minutes and nine seconds still sitting on the game clock. Although, his beloved team went on to win their game 116–95.

“More importantly, the Knicks are now 1- 0 when I throw up on the court, so maybe I’ll have to break it out again in the playoffs,” he jokingly claimed

An MSG spokesperson stated that they hope Morgan feels better soon and they look forward to seeing him back in his usual seat.

“First and foremost, we obviously hope everything is good with Tracy Morgan,” Knicks forward Josh Hart claimed during a postgame interview. “Avid, lifetime Knick fan, so prayers go out to him for his health and safety.”

The standup comic has previously dealt with health issues such as diabetes along with a kidney transplant he underwent in 2010. A few years later, he survived a deadly car accident after a Walmart truck hit his limo from behind. The 2014 collision left Morgan in a coma for two weeks and with a broken leg. After the incident, he had to relearn how to walk and speak.

Morgan recently attended the Saturday Night Live 50 year anniversary special where he participated in a few sketches.

“This is incredible,” Morgan claimed during his red carpet appearance. “Just thank the lord that I’m a part of this, [and] that I survived the accident, and I’m alive to be here for this.”

Morgan’s next comedy show is set for April 11 in Bangor, Maine.
