Ben Affleck Shares New Details on Divorce from Jennifer Lopez
Ben Affleck has finally spoken about his divorce from Jennifer Lopez. In the April edition of GQ, he shared details regarding their separation.
There was no prenup involved, and this sticky matter has allowed Affleck to set the record straight, including why he decided to participate in the 2024 documentary about their marriage, The Greatest Love Story Never Told.
“Part of it was, ‘Okay, if I’m going to participate in this, I want to try to do it in an honest way and in a way that’s interesting.’ Because I thought it was an interesting examination,” Affleck stated.
The two-time divorced father of three praised Jennifer Lopez. “There are a lot of people who I think have handled celebrity more adeptly and more adroitly than I have, Jennifer among them. My temperament is to be a little bit more reserved and private than hers,” he shared.
“As happens in relationships, you don’t always have the same attitude towards these things,” the two-time Academy Award winner added. “And so I thought, Oh, this is interesting because how do you reconcile that? Because … I love and support this person. I believe in them. They’re great. I want people to see that.”
Affleck and Lopez reignited their romance in 2021, after getting engaged in 2002 and ending their relationship in 2003. They tied the knot in 2022 with two separate ceremonies — one in Las Vegas and another in Georgia. Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck in August 2024 and was finalized in January.
Their journey together, filled with highs and lows, continues to be a testament to the ever-changing nature of love, and their story serves as a reminder of the challenges and beauty of relationships in the public eye.
