New James Bond Installment Finds Producers
Amid fan concern over the next James Bond, Amazon MGM Studios solidified producers for the film, both of whom have extensive backgrounds. The news comes after mixed reactions to the Oscars tribute in February, where superstars Doja Cat, Lisa, and Raye performed themes from the cinematic universe.
In a recent press release, the studio house announced producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman are on board for the film. Pascal comes with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man films and the Golden Globe-nominated Challengers under her belt. Heyman produced all eight Harry Potter films and is currently in pre-production for the upcoming television adaptation of the fantasy series.
Amazon MGM Studios head of film, Courtney Valenti, wrote, “We are honored to be working with them on James Bond’s next chapter and are excited to deliver to global audiences storytelling that upholds the impeccable legacy of this beloved character.”
Heyman and Pascal also released a statement expressing their excitement to work with Amazon on the film, commenting, “We are humbled to follow in the footsteps of Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson who made so many extraordinary films.”

“James Bond is one of the most iconic characters in the history of cinema,” said Amy Pascal and David Heyman.

They continued, promising fans that they are “Honored and excited to keep the spirit of Bond very much alive as he embarks on his next adventure.”
Fans responded to the news swiftly, but rather positively. One commented, “Going to say it again since there’s been time to process. Amazon choosing these 2 is definitely a win. It shows they’re serious about treating Bond as a big theatrical experience. Pascal and Heyman have credentials, and Pascal even has Bond roots. I dig it all things considered.”
The studio acquired the creative rights to the James Bond franchise in a multi-billion-dollar deal with longtime producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. The deal, valued at $8.5 billion, also relinquished creative control of any new Bond films to Broccoli and Wilson. This deal allows all 25 James Bond films to be streamed on Amazon Prime, and Broccoli and Wilson remain co-owners of the iconic franchise.
However, it was shrouded in controversy after Broccoli and Amazon executives clashed over potential pitches. In response, Amazon CEO and founder Jeff Bezos allegedly pushed for a deal no matter what the cost, as long as Broccoli was no longer involved in the franchise.
Broccoli was 100% correct.

Much like Star Wars, Bond will no longer be an event movie. We’re gonna have so many crappy spinoffs rammed down our throats.
The shine will definitely come off of the main franchise.
On the other hand, the move concerned some die-hard fans of the franchise, who likened the deal to that of Disney’s acquisition of the Star Wars cinematic universe.
One fan wrote, “This is terrible news because Barbara was the only one who was keeping Amazon away from turning 007 into a cinematic universe.” Another commented, “Tech companies kill everything they touch.”
Amid the swift reaction to the deal, another worry plagued fans— who would replace the iconic 007 after Daniel Craig exited the role after 2021’s No Time to Die? The answer to that remains to be seen, even by Bezos himself, who posted on X, “Who’d you pick as the next James Bond?” Several actors, including Aaron Taylor-Johnson, have been rumored to take on the role, but nothing has been officially confirmed. Only time will tell.
For now, you can stream all James Bond films on Prime Video.
