The Television Academy, presenter of the renowned Emmy Awards, unveils its first-ever multi-day television festival called Televerse. Taking place a month before the biggest night in television, Televerse will span August 14 to August 16 at the JW Marriot at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles.

While the Emmys will be televised on November 24, the Television Academy’s final round of voting takes place starting August 18. Televerse aims to feature Emmy-nominated programs and stars just a few days before academy members cast their votes.

This is the first time voters will have access to the Television Academy-sanctioned “For Your Consideration” nominee panels. These panels will highlight this year’s Emmy nominees in key program categories. While the academy has hosted FYC events prior, they featured contenders for awards, not officially nominated projects and artists.

However, Televerse is not just for Emmy campaigning. In a statement announcing the festival, the Television Academy stated, “Televerse will celebrate television’s innovative storytellers and beloved content, providing attendees with an unprecedented opportunity to look at television beyond flatscreens and into the future — gaining access and understanding of the creative and development processes behind their favorite programs, the intersection of technology and imagination, the strategy behind key business decisions, and future innovations.”

The event will be consumer-facing, allowing non-members to attend as well.

The Television Academy is in the works of expanding the festival in multiple platforms, noting that, “Plans are underway with partners at every studio, network, platform and innovative tech companies to present insider discussions, meet-and-greets, interactive exhibits, premieres and previews of upcoming programs.”

The festival is a unique way for TV fanatics to engage in some of the most loved programs in popular culture.

Television Academy Chair Cris Abrego explains, “This is an exciting time in the evolution of television and the Academy, and our members are at the forefront of cutting-edge production and innovative storytelling. We will bring the best in the business together for Televerse, deliver remarkable access to a wide range of programming, and provide an extraordinary forum for the exchange of new ideas and industry innovation.”

Pre-registration is available on the Televerse website through May 30. To register, click here.
