Veteran actor Bruce Glover passed away at 92 from natural causes on March 12, according to a representative for his son.

“Bruce Herbert Glover May 2, 1932 – March 12, 2025,” Crispin Glover wrote in the caption of a March 29 Instagram post that announced his father’s passing. The tribute accompanied a black-and-white photo shared by the Back to the Future actor, showing the Chinatown actor as a young man in the army.

He also shared a photograph of his father from the 1974 hit film, along with him at the Los Angeles season two premiere of American Gods, in which the younger Glover starred. The third and final photo has Glover alongside his son when he was a toddler and his wife, Betty Glover, who passed away in 2016.

Glover was best known for portraying Duffy in Chinatown and James Bond villain Mr Wint in Diamonds Are Forever (1971). He also appeared in several other films and TV series, including Walking Tall (1973 – 1977), Hard Times (1975), Route 66 (1966), The Six Million Dollar Man (1975), CHIPS (1977-1979), and The Streets of San Francisco (1976 – 1977).

The late actor was born during the Great Depression on May 2, 1932, in Chicago and pursued acting after being drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He debuted on Broadway in shows The Night of the Iguana and Bancroft in Mother Courage and Her Children before getting his first role on television in Car 54, Where Are You? (1961).

The Ghost Town (1988) actor worked his way up the show business until the later years of his long life, where he made his last appearance in the 2015 Polish film Influence. Actress Jewels McCullough, who appeared in Big Bad Mama 2 (1987) with Glover, wrote in a tribute on Facebook, “Rest in Peace Bruce Glover. A sad loss for the film industry. Great actor and a good man. Sure enjoyed working with him in my first film and appreciated that he and his wife Betty were so nice to me.”

The tribute continued, “Hugs to your heart, Crispin Hellion Glover. I loved both of your parents. xoxo.” Director and screenwriter Donald Farmer also expressed his gratitude for the legendary actor on Facebook, “Not only a tremendous actor but a wonderful acting teacher and Facebook friend.”

Glover’s legacy will forever live on through his 60-year-old son.
