The TikTok influencer and podcast host Jake Shane is set to appear in season 4 of the Max Original series, Hacks.

The Internet personality will portray the role of Social Media Girlie in a few episodes of the comedy, which will premiere April 10.

In an Instagram post announcing his acting debut, Shane writes, “It’s not every day you fall in love with a TV show…and then get to guest star in it. Honored to announce I’ll be in a few episodes of Max’s Hacks Season 4, premiering April 10.”

“Thank you to Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello, and Jen Statsky for trusting me with their vision, and the entire Hacks cast and crew for being so welcoming… I am so grateful to be a part of this masterpiece of a show,” he adds.

Hacks follows Las Vegas comedian Deborah Vance, who is forced to team up with a young, outcast television writer, Ava Daniels, in order to save her dwindling career.

The official logline of the fourth season reads, “Tensions rise as Deborah and Ava endeavor to get their late-night show off the ground and make history doing it.”

Jake Shane’s feature in the series will mark a first in his acting career. While he recently starred in a Super Bowl commercial alongside Alix Earle and Rob Rausch for the prebiotic soda brand Poppi, this will be his first longer-form project.

Shane has received acting advice from multiple perspectives having interviewed several actors and actresses on his weekly podcast Therapuss with Jake Shane, which he launched in January 2024. This includes Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline, Victorious icon Elizabeth Gillies, Pretty Little Liars Lucy Hale, and Anyone But You’s Glenn Powell, among others.

The influencer’s acting debut comes at an exciting time for Shane, as he is halfway through his comedy tour Live with Jake Shane. Visiting 35 cities across North America, Shane is embarking on his largest live tour ever.

He recently wrapped his first tour, Therapuss LIVE, at the end of 2024, where he performed to sold-out crowds in 21 cities. He was joined by special guests Reneé Rapp, Alix Earle, Sofia Richie-Grainge, Snooki, Connor Wood, and Alexander 23.
