Chris Hemsworth Shares on New Film and Praises Halle Berry

Chris Hemsworth claims his latest project, Crime 101, has made him nervous since he’s been fortunate to work alongside Hollywood icon Halle Berry.

While stepping out for the Amazon MGM Studios presentation during CinemaCon in Las Vegas on April 2, the 41-year-old revealed he was intimidated to work with Berry for the first time in their upcoming film Crime 101.

“I’ve admired Halle’s work for many years. I was intimidated to sit opposite her within a scene and try not [to] be in awe of what she was doing,” Hemsworth told E! News in a joint interview with his co-star. Yet, he claims the Never Let Go actress immediately put him at ease on set.
“Certain people just bring out not just the best in you, but also [some] sort of comfort level where it feels like it’s a place to explore and it’s a place to examine different ideas and try different things. And that was experienced with [Berry],” he continued before adding, “I loved every second of it.”

The feeling seemed mutual, as Berry mentioned she had the opportunity to work alongside the Avengers: Endgame actor, whom she calls “one of my new favorite people in the whole wide world.”
“[He’s] a stand-up guy,” the 58-year-old added. “I won’t go into it now, but he stood up for me in a moment on our [film], and instantly I knew right then I’m going to follow this guy, be a fan of this guy for the rest of his life because he stood up for a woman.”
She continued, “He didn’t have to do it, and he did it,” to which Hemsworth responded by stating, “Back at ya.” In their new thriller, an adaptation of a Don Winslow novella, Berry plays a weary insurance broker involved in a multimillion-dollar heist led by Hemsworth’s character Davis, a jewelry thief.
The Thor: Love and Thunder actor recounted another celebrity encounter that left him flustered. During a March 26 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, he told the talk show host that he regretted asking Billie Eilish to take a picture at the Academy Awards.
“I remember thinking, ‘Ah, don’t do it, don’t do it,’” he recalled while snapping a photo with the 23-year-old musician. But he claimed he and his wife, Elsa Pataky, posed for the selfie anyway because he knew their children would get a kick out of it.
“I was like, ‘No, my kids are going to love this.’ And then the moment I took it, I was like, ‘I went from work colleague to now a fan,’” the Avengers actor told Colbert, implying it created an awkward moment. “We will never be friends or best friends,” Hemsworth jokingly concluded.
Crime 101, starring Hemsworth and Berry, will stream on Prime Video later this year.
