Paris Hilton is stepping into the world of true crime with a new podcast series. My Friend Daisy revisits the tragic 2021 murder of 19-year-old Daisy De La O from Compton.

Produced in collaboration with iHeartPodcasts and London Audio, the ten-part limited series, hosted and written by journalist Jenn Swann, was launched on March 26.

The Power of Social Media

The podcast tells the heartbreaking story of Daisy, who was murdered just outside her apartment. When law enforcement made no immediate progress on the case, her determined friends and family turned to social media —specifically TikTok—to spread the word and demand action. Their efforts didn’t just go viral, but they also created a widespread manhunt that ultimately helped bring the killer to justice. My Friend Daisy explores how this digital campaign unfolded. It also examines the rise of online communities taking justice into their own hands.

This series marks Paris Hilton’s first touch into the true-crime genre under her 11:11 Media banner, launched in 2021. She is also joined by Bruce Gersh, Bruce Robertson, Joanna Studebaker, Jonathan Hirsh (Sony Music Entertainment), Danielle Romo, Amy Sugarman, and Swann on production.

Hilton has already ventured into impactful storytelling through her previous podcasts like I Am ParisTrapped in Treatment, and The History of the World’s Greatest Nightclubs. With My Friend Daisy, she is continuing her mission to give light to voices that are silenced.

“I was deeply moved by how Daisy’s community used digital activism to demand justice,” Hilton shared. “Partnering with iHeart and Jenn to bring this story to a wider audience is a way to honor Daisy’s memory and fight back against domestic violence.”

Journalist Jenn Swann added, “Daisy’s story, and how her loved ones mobilized through TikTok, reveals both the potential and the complexity of social media in the pursuit of justice. This podcast let me explore those themes while honoring Daisy’s life and the people who loved her.”
