PinkPantheress Officially Announces New Mixtape Fancy That
PinkPantheress announced her new mixtape, Fancy That, and shared the official cover art earlier this week.
After having dropped her mixtape teaser video last month, PinkPantheress has now revealed the official mixtape name as Fancy That.
The “Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2” singer posted to Instagram, “It’s finally time to OFFICIALLY announce my second mixtape, Fancy that! And a LIL SHOW TOO! You guys have been so supportive of my musical quest since i was 19 years old, it doesn’t feel real to STILL be doing this at 23. And YES the songs you’ve been asking for are on there for the most part (i hope)!”
Fancy That is set to release on May 9 and will feature nine tracks.
- Illegal
- Girl Like Me
- Tonight
- Stars
- Intermission
- Noises
- Nice to Know You
- Stateside
- Romeo
After the mixtape’s release, PinkPantheress will be performing on September 18 and September 19 at the O2 Academy Brixton. Pre-ordering Fancy That before 5 p.m. BST/12 p.m. EST/9 a.m. PST on April 9 from her official UK store makes fans eligible for early pre-sale access to both event nights. The general sale will be at the same time on April 14.
Fancy That will be the British musician’s second mixtape after her 2021 debut, to h*ll with it.
Since releasing the mixtape teaser video, she released the music video for her latest single, “Tonight.” The single is the first to be released from the upcoming Fancy That mixtape.
The MOBO Award winner wrote of its release, “I hope everyone loves, i’m putting everything into this era because i love the music so much! Truly my proudest work.”
PinkPantheress brings Y2K to the Bridgerton-style music video, voguing in Rococo-style costumes to her signature electronic pop sound in a literal ballroom. Her music video truly combines the two distinct vintage eras through the Georgian-era mansion setting and her sampling of Panic! At the Disco’s “Do You Know What I’m Seeing?” off their iconic 2000s album Pretty. Odd.
The new mixtape will mark “a new chapter for PinkPantheress as she embraces a new level of intimacy that seamlessly blends the music she grew up on with the musician’s earworm production. Her sophomore mixtape, ‘Fancy That’ steps into her fun and kitsch-y era, one that is rooted in British culture that showcases her signature vocals and genre-blurring production.”
