Zedd Brings Out John Mayer and Other Special Guests for New Coachella Set
German DJ and producer Zedd drew one of the biggest crowds in Coachella history by bringing out impressive guests Maren Morris, Elley Duhé, Julia Michaels, Bea Miller, and John Mayer.
Despite being his fifth Coachella performance, the Grammy-winning DJ performed on Sunday, bringing in electric energy. The most exciting part of the night was when singer-songwriter and guitarist John Mayer joined Zedd on stage to sing not one but two songs.
The first piece the duo sang was their collaboration, “Automatic Yes,” featuring one of Mayer’s signature guitar solos. Their second song was a rendition of Mayer’s “New Light,” in which Mayer sang and played guitar while Zedd stepped out from the DJ booth to play the drums.
Although the DJ slowed down the tempo, the crowd did not stop cheering.
Incredible night at @coachella sitting in with @Zedd for a couple of tunes. “What a night!” Massive crowd, absolutely locked with his every musical move, incredible crew, just a really great experience from rehearsal to soundcheck to show. Throughout the night, Maren Morris, Elley Duhé, Julia Michaels, and Bea Miller also joined Zedd on stage. Each guest was met with ecstatic audience reactions.
Before Zedd ended his well-received performance, he thanked everyone in the crowd for their energy. “You hear the rumors about weekend one crowds,” he expressed. “But you guys have been amazing.”
Zedd closed his set with none other than his energetic yet nostalgic “Clarity.” Fans chanted the lyrics while waving their phone flashlights from side to side.

This was actually the second time Zedd performed “Clarity” this weekend, making a surprise appearance during Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra’s set on Saturday.
Zedd is set to return to Coachella for Weekend 2 on Sunday, April 20. We will have to wait and see who else will be joining him on stage. Purchase your tickets here.
