The Cannes Directors’ Fortnight, running from May 14 to 24, has officially unveiled its full lineup, featuring 10 short and medium-length films alongside 18 feature films.

The ceremony will open with Enzo, a French drama about a 16-year-old boy who goes against his family’s wishes by starting his apprenticeship, where he meets a young Ukrainian boy who will change his life. Laurent Cantet and Robin Campillo wrote the film.

The event will end with Eva Victor’s Sorry, Baby, which premiered for the first time at the Sundance Film Festival. After its premiere, A24 backed the film and scheduled its release for June 27.

Two first-time directors will appear at the event this year. Valéry Carnoy will attend with her film, The Foxes Round, and Louise Hémon will appear with The Girl in the Snow.

Christian Petzold, a German film director, is slated to make his first appearance at Cannes with Miroirs No. 3. The project follows a hopeful pianist, played by Paula Beer, whose world turns upside down after she survives a car crash and a family offers to take her in and care for her.

Canadian director Anne Émond will bring her bilingual rom-com Peak Everything to Fortnight. Furthermore, Lee Sang-il will appear with a Japanese epic called Kokuho. Sean Byrne’s Dangerous Animals will also be highlighted.

The President’s Cake, taking place in Iraq, is set to be featured. The film by Hasan Hadi is about a girl and her friends who are tasked with making President Saddam Hussein’s birthday cake during his reign in the 1990s.

This year’s ceremony will also honor Todd Haynes, an American director who will receive the Carrosse d’Or Fortnight’s lifetime achievement award.
