Gracie Abrams Shares Her Experience Working With Successful Women
Gracie Abrams sat down with Billboard to talk trolls, touring, and Taylor Swift. Abrams specifically shared her experience working with such successful women in the music industry.
The “Risk” singer revealed that Olivia Rodrigo allowed her to open up for the “SOUR” tour. She expressed her gratitude towards the singer. “She gave me such a shot, opening for her on the SOUR tour,” she continued. “I adore her with my whole heart for forever and ever.”
Shortly after, the “Driver’s License” singer shared, “Gracie has such a singular voice when it comes to songwriting,” she added. “I think it’s rare to be so young and already have developed your very own lane. You can hear a song and instantly know if it’s a Gracie Abrams song, even if she wasn’t singing it. That is so special and a real testament to her talent and influence.”
Additionally, Abrams opened for Taylor Swift during “The Eras Tour.” The songwriter reflected on opening for the “Lover” singer. “I think having had the privilege of opening for Taylor in the stadiums that we played, to now have a visual reference and a real sense of what it feels like to be on a stage in that environment… It’s something that I miss and desperately hope to earn over time.”
Furthermore, the singer shared her feelings toward the pop star. “She’s just the most unbelievable performer and the most generous friend, and the fact that she… took a chance on me is, I think, why I get to be in this room tonight,” Abrams stated.
In 2019, she released her first two singles, “Mean It” and “Stay.” In 2020, she released her first EP Minor, which featured the beloved single, “I miss you, i’m sorry.” Her third single, “Brush Fire,” followed shortly after, and in 2021, she collaborated with Benny Blanco on “Unlearn.” It wasn’t until 2023 that she released her first album, Good Riddance, while her second album, The Secret of Us, was released in 2024.
Gracie Abrams’ music is available on all streaming platforms.
