Simone Biles is uncertain about her plans for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.

In an interview with L’Equipe, the gymnast revealed where her head is regarding the upcoming games.

“I’m really trying to enjoy life, to spend time with my husband, go support him at his games, live my life as a woman,” she stated. “I’ve accomplished so much in my sport. For me to come back, it would really have to excite me.”

Biles, 28, would be 31 at the start of the 2028 games. She addressed that gymnastics takes a serious toll on the body, which she experienced in Paris last year.

“I went back to the [Olympic] village, I took the elevator and my body literally collapsed. I was sick for 10 days,” she stated. “The other day, we were sprinting in the garden with friends. I had aches and pains for 3 days.”

The Olympics isn’t easy to prepare for. While fans see it as a month-long event where they watch their favorite athletes represent their country, so much more goes into it.

“A lot of people think it’s just a one-year commitment, but it truly is the four years leading up to the Olympics,” Biles stated.

After Biles removed herself from the 2020 Olympic Games for mental health reasons, she felt she had to come back in 2024 and prove herself. During her time in Paris, she won three gold medals and one silver, bringing her total medal count to 11. Seven of those medals are gold.

Team USA achieved great success in Paris last year. The men and women earned a total of 10 medals. Three of those were gold, one silver, and six bronze.

Biles also made waves in World Championships over the years. The gold medalist has won 30 World Championship medals, with 23 of them being gold.

Whether Biles attends as a gymnast or a spectator, she will support Team USA in 2028.

“Whether on the apparatus or in the stands, I still don’t know that. But 2028 seems so far away, and my body is aging,” she stated.
