Rising artist Young Miko released her new single and music video for “WASSUP” this Thursday.

Young Miko has become one of Reggaeton’s newest faces, having released her Grammy Award-nominated debut album att. last year.

The Puerto Rican musician has already collaborated with various iconic artists since the release of her 2022 debut EP, TRAP KITTY. Young Miko has collaborated with musicians such as Bad Bunny on his Grammy Award-nominated album Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana, Karol G’s mixtape Mañana Será Bonito (Bichota Season), and Kehlani’s album CRASH.

Since then, Young Miko has also been featured in the song “Come Play” with Stray Kids and Tom Morello in the second season of Netflix’s hit animated series Arcane: League of Legends.

This year, she’s continued her roll, collaborating on three new singles: “WOAHH” with Rvssian, Omar Courtz, and Clarent, “AMG” with Elaido Carrión, and her most recent collaboration, “EN LA CITY” with Trueno.

“WASSUP” is the artist’s first solo single of the year. The new music video features classic Reggaeton imagery of bling, cars, big speakers, and, of course, perreo, with a lesbian-focused spin. The video is also uniquely Young Miko, including red card penalties referencing the artist’s futbolista past. She is a fresh force changing the game of Reggaeton from a man’s world to her’s.

She sings, exuding confidence and ease, “Tienes jeva o tienes jevo? (ey) / Si te cansas de él, mami yo cojo el relevo / Yo me atrevo (yo me atrevo) / Te enseño truquitos nuevos / Tu estas dura, y yo me veo cabr*n* en el espejo / So what’s uppppp.” (“Do you have a girlfriend or a boyfriend? (ey) / If you’re tired of him, mami I’ll take over / I’m bold (I’m bold) / I’ll teach you new tricks / You’re hot, and I look bad*ss in the mirror / so what’s uppppp.”)

She also debuts her new short haircut while a woman flirts with her. She sings, “A ti mami, que te gusta? / Rápido se crece.” (“And you mami, what do you like? / She grows quickly.”)

The woman on her arm cozies up to her then sings back, “Me gusta que allá abajo Baby Miko me la bese.” (I like when baby Miko kisses me down there.”)

The single has a similar but improved new sound to her TRAP KITTY days, exciting fans for the Añasco musician’s new era. Young Miko knows she’s the next big Reggaeton star—she can steal your girl and top the charts, too.
