Hulu has released the official trailer for season 2 of Nine Perfect Strangers, marking Nicole Kidman’s return as the enigmatic wellness guru Masha Dmitrichenko.

Change in Location

Season 2 centers on a week-long wellness retreat created by Masha in the snowy Austrian Alps. The nine strangers, chosen under mysterious circumstances, are promised healing, only to find themselves pushed to their emotional and psychological limits.

The newly released trailer sets an ominous tone, opening with a voiceover that hints at the bizarre circumstances under which the guests were chosen.

“I invited you all here because sometimes you shouldn’t deal with pain gently,” stated Masha in the trailer. “This is a cleansing of the mind. To recharge, to rediscover inspiration.” The guests undergo therapy to confront their past traumas. It echoes the intense, boundary-pushing methods from the first season.

Who is Part of the Cast?

Nicole Kidman will continue in her role as Masha Dmitrichenko. The new ensemble cast includes Henry Golding, Lena Olin, Annie Murphy, Christine Baranski, Lucas Englander, King Princess, Murray Bartlett, Dolly de Leon, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Mark Strong, and Aras Aydin. Each character arrives with their secrets and wounds, and under Masha’s intense guidance, they’re forced to confront their most painful memories. The trailer teases psychedelic sessions and a growing sense of unease as the line between healing and harm blurs.

The trailer showcases the guests’ confusion and apprehension, with one asking, “Wait, this is not a spa?” and another panicking as she asked, “She’s going to bleach our brains, darling.” Scenes from the trailer depict the group undergoing psychedelic experiences and confronting core memories, while Masha herself is shown battling her unresolved trauma. The trailer underscores the season’s central question will the guests- and Masha-survive the process of healing?

Mark your calendars as Season 2 premieres on Hulu on May 21 with a special two-episode launch, followed by new episodes every Wednesday until the finale on July 2. For fans of psychological drama and darkly comic thrillers, this is one retreat you won’t want to miss.
