The Met Gala has officially concluded, bringing the biggest stars together for a fashion event to remember.

This year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” brought athletes, musicians, actors, actresses, models, and more to the blue carpet to highlight the significance and evolution of fashion and its contribution to forming Black identities. Attendees gathered at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City to celebrate the opening of the corresponding exhibition in the museum’s Costume Institute.

Co-chairing the event this year was A$AP Rocky, Lewis Hamilton, Colman Domingo, Pharrell Williams, and Anna Wintour.

Rihanna

Rihanna wore a Marc Jacobs dress inspired by a classic suit look. She paired it with a wide-brimmed hat, cropped blazer, and white collar.

Colman Domingo

Colman Domingo brought two different looks to the blue carpet. He made his entrance wearing a pleated blue cape with a delicate sparkly breastplate by Valentino. He paired it with a statement necklace, earrings, a watch, and a gold ear cuff.

The second look featured a black and white blazer, grey pants, and a polka-dot ascot.

Lewis Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton’s look, created by Grace Wales Bonner, featured an ivory-colored suit of a cropped jacket, white button-up shirt, and high-waisted pants. It was decorated with a white bow tie, an ivory sash, crystal brooches, pearls down the pant legs, and a beret by Stephen Jones Millinery.

A$AP Rocky

A$AP Rocky took a unique approach to the gala this year by wearing a custom outfit from his own creative company, AWGE. He sported a jacket inspired by the Marmot pieces he used to see in Harlem growing up, a white shirt, black pants, satin boxers, and oxfords that his agency made in collaboration with Christian Louboutin.

Emma Chamberlain

Emma Chamberlain wore a backless dress from Courrèges that drew inspiration from a classic pinstripe suit. It also featured a red pocket square, a satin sash, silver glasses, opera gloves, and tights. The look was complete with Stuart Weitzman heels.

Teyana Taylor

Teyana Taylor brought this year’s theme to life with a look designed by Ruth E. Carter. She wore a pinstripe suit with a padded cape adorning the words “Harlem rose” across the train, a red vest with silver chains falling across, red gloves, a red cane, and a red fedora with a massive feather hanging down the back.

Ego Nwodim

Ego Nwodim wore a three-piece suit by Christopher John Rogers. The suit featured a cropped jacket with structured shoulder pads, a corset with a peplum hem around the hips, and matching pants that fell at the ankle. The coat’s sleeves were stitched with rainbow buttons. The look was complete with red heels and a statement necklace.

Zendaya

Zendaya brought yet another powerful look to the Met Gala carpet. The actress was seen wearing an all-white zoot suit from Louis Vuitton, designed in collaboration with Williams. The suit was complete with a tie, a wide-brimmed hat, and a beautiful brooch to add an element of shine to the sleek outfit.

Tyla

Tyla wore a show-stopping look on this year’s blue carpet. She attended the event in a white, off-the-shoulder dress from Jacquemus with black pinstripes trailing down her figure. She also wore a coat with a long train that featured a matching pattern to the dress. The look was inspired by André Leon Talley.

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian donned a black, off-the-shoulder leather dress from Chrome Hearts. The outfit was accessorized with a matching hat, Moussaieff necklaces, earrings, and white pearls wrapping from the front of the skirt to the back.

Charli xcx

Charli xcx was seen in Anne Demeulemeester by Stefano Gallici. This is the first time someone has worn this label to the blue carpet.

The “360” singer took a more gothic approach to the theme. Her look featured a black suit jacket paired with a long, sheer skirt, thigh-high boots, and a feathered hairpiece.

Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj brought a dress from Thom Browne to this year’s event. The form-fitting piece featured a pinstripe design, wide neckline, a mermaid-style skirt, and beautiful flowers draping over her shoulder and falling down her back. The outfit was complete with a gold headpiece.

Doechii

Doechii made a major statement with her outfit as a first-time attendee. She wore a Louis Vuitton suit that she designed with Williams. It featured checker pattern shorts and a cropped blazer monogrammed with the Louis Vuitton initials. She accessorized the outfit with a maroon bow tie.

Keke Palmer

Keke Palmer arrived to the gala wearing a white gown from Vera Wang. The look featured black pants, a halter top, a long train, black heels, and a statement headpiece. She was inspired by Dorothy Dandridge.

Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid channeled her inner pin-up girl with this year’s outfit. The model wore a custom piece from Miu Miu. It was a gold sequined dress with a long train and halter neckline. She completed the look with a classic hairstyle and silver jewelry.

Angel Reese

Angel Reese took on the Met Gala wearing a two-piece dress from Thom Browne. The cropped, long-sleeve top featured a white collar and lace-up detail on the back. The bottom was a high-waisted matching skirt.

Tyler Mitchell

Tyler Mitchell wore an ivory-colored suit from Wales Bonner. The outfit was complete with a feathered drape over his shoulder, matching gloves, and blue detail on the collar.

Sydney Sweeney

Sydney Sweeney walked the blue carpet in a look inspired by Kim Novak. Her Miu Miu black a-line dress featured gold detailing at the top of the chest, a keyhole cutout, and embellished fringe draping down each shoulder.

Brian Tyree Hill

Brian Tyree Hill wore a look from Orange Culture, a Nigerian fashion brand. He wore a red suit, red coat with intricate metallic detail, a black tie, black gloves, and black boots.

Alton Mason

Alton Mason stole the show at the gala with a look inspired by Slick Rick the Ruler. Mason wore a floor-length black coat with structured shoulders and a long train atop an embellished outfit, which was accessorized with a black fedora and an embellished eye patch.

Janelle Monáe

Janelle Monáe brought the theme to life with a black, red, and white suit from Thom Browne in collaboration with Paul Tazewell. The rectangular-silhouetted suit was decorated with white stripes atop the black fabric and geometric patterns across the red fabric. She accessorized with a black hat, bag, and monocle.

Quinta Brunson

Quinta Brunson donned a Sergio Hudson column pinstripe dress with a matching jacket.

Rosé

Rosé walked the carpet wearing a black tuxedo from Yves Saint Laurent. The look, created by Anthony Vaccarello, featured a plunging jacket, massive train, matching pants, and red heels. She brought the look together with a statement pendant from Tiffany & Co.

Coco Jones

Coco Jones’ look was brought together by Manish Malhotra. She wore a white and cream-colored suit decorated with intricate floral embroidery.

Laura Harrier

Laura Harrier was seen in an outfit for GapStudio by Zac Posen. She wore a natural-colored vest and satin pants.

Damson Idris

Damson Idris took the Met Gala to the next level with two looks. He arrived on the carpet wearing a custom white race suit from Tommy Hilfiger. His helmet was decorated with thousands of Swarovski crystals.

His second look was hidden underneath the race suit. It featured a red tuxedo with red lapels, a matching vest, a white shirt, tuxedo pants, and a beautiful emerald brooch. His jewelry came from his own collection, DIDRIS.

Ciara

Ciara wore a sensational black gown with large cutouts throughout the piece. The dress was held together by strings of diamonds that truly stole the show. The look was complete with black heels and diamond jewelry.

Whitney Peak

Whitney Peak wore a Chanel set. Her outfit featured a black tweed cropped jacket, an asymmetrical skirt, a tweed hat, and a classic red tie blouse.

Alicia Keys

Alicia Keys wore a red pinstripe double-breasted suit designed by Moncler. It featured matching pants, an oversized down scarf, a matching shawl, and black boots. She wore a matching red, beaded headpiece to bring the look together.

Jodie Turner-Smith

Jodie Turner-Smith walked the carpet in a leather burgundy Burberry look, complete with a top hat and MARLI jewels.

Imaan Hammam

Imaan Hammam wore a suit from Magda Butrym. It had structured shoulders and a fitted waist, and was put together with wide-leg pants, a black shirt, and a black statement headpiece. The tie finished the look and was decorated with polka dots.

Tracee Ellis Ross

Tracee Ellis Ross brought color to the blue carpet in a pink Marc Jacobs pantsuit. It was adorned with a hot pink sash that hugged her waist, creating a voluminous bow in the back. She wore a white top, maroon blazer, red handkerchief, and wide-brimmed hat.

Walton Goggins

Walton Goggins wore a Thom Browne ensemble, which included a long black skirt, white shirt, and floor-length overcoat.

Tyler Perry

Tyler Perry wore a suit by Brandon Gray. He wore a sophisticated tuxedo with an embellished silk cape. He accessorized with a watch from Richard Mille and jewelry by Sebastian Jaramillo.

Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa brought a show-stopping look from Chanel. She wore a chiffon dress with an open back and long bow, a black sequined jacket, and a cape decorated with sparkle and feathers.

Babyface

Babyface wore a matching black and white blazer with a white shirt, trousers, a white shirt, and sunglasses. The outfit was created by LaQuan Smith.

Mindy Kaling

Mindy Kaling wore a long-sleeved black dress with a white collar and red detail on the collar and waist. The gown was decorated with gold buttons down the front and on the cuffs. It was complete with a red and white train.

Bad Bunny

Bad Bunny blended this year’s theme with his Puerto Rican roots to create a truly unforgettable outfit. He wore a brown suit from Prada with a tobacco poplin shirt, a tie, a rope and leather belt, natural-colored boots, and leather gloves. He completed the outfit with a pava hat, creating a monochromatic, elegant look.

Lupita Nyong’o

Lupita Nyong’o dazzled in an aquamarine set from Chanel made up of a jacket, satin shirt, cape, and pants. She completed it with a delicate brooch and jewelry from Étoile Filante.

Diana Ross

Diana Ross stole the show with her look. She wore a white gown embellished with jaw-dropping crystals. The train had the names of her children and grandchildren embroidered on it. The cape’s trim was lined with feathers.

The outfit was created in collaboration with her son, Evan Ross, and Ugo Mozie, a Nigerian designer.

Jennie

Jennie’s look was put together by Chanel. She wore an off-the-shoulder black jumpsuit with two strands of beautiful pearls across the front. The black satin overskirt brought the look to life. She paired the look with a hat and Chanel heels.

Zoe Saldaña

Zoe Saldaña wowed fans at the gala with a Thom Browne number. She wore a black corset and white ribbed sleeves, and a matching floor-length skirt. Buttons fell down the center of the outfit and the sleeves. The collar of her shirt was decorated with delicate sequins, tying the look in with her silver earrings and diamond ring.

It’s safe to believe this year’s Met Gala is one for the books. As the glitter settles and the best-dressed debates rage on, one thing is certain: the Met Gala continues to be the ultimate stage where style meets spectacle and this year, it did not disappoint.
