Kali Uchis Releases New Album Sincerely,

Grammy Award-winning singer Kali Uchis released her new album Sincerely, at midnight Friday.

Since first announcing the album, Kali Uchis gave fans a taste of Sincerely, releasing the music video and visualizer for “Sunshine & Rain” and “ILYSMIH” ahead of the album’s release.

The two songs gave listeners a sample of the “telepatía” singer’s most personal album yet. She also surprised fans by releasing a new music video for “All I Can Say” alongside the album’s release.

Uchis’ signature smooth voice transports the audience throughout the Sincerely, album soundtrack, diving into feelings of existentialism and love in all its complications and joys.

These ups and downs in love are not only portrayed in her songs about romance but also in her songs and familial love. The singer, having been kicked out of her home as a teenager and last year becoming a mother for the first time, knows how complex family love can be.

On her song “ILYSMIH,” she sings about forming her own family, singing, “For oncе in my life, I’m not alone anymore / See, my hеart had a dream to be a part of a family / Yeah, it took some time but this moment / Was worth all the pain.”

The album’s 14 tracks are completely self-written and vulnerable. The “After the Storm” singer has done her magic again, creating an intimate body of artwork that still can resonate with all kinds of listeners.

In an interview on The Zane Lowe Show podcast, Uchis shared, “I just feel like [the album’s] purpose is meant to be emotional and true and more so an encapsulation of my heart and me really pouring my soul as much as I can into a body of work. […] When you’re making emotional music, you have to actually dig into difficult subjects, or thematically, you have to pour a piece of yourself into it, and it takes a lot more. I think being able to really put a piece of me into it was my main goal.”
