Dearest Gentle Reader, our time with the Ton continues. Bridgerton has officially been renewed as our favorite historical romance series for two more seasons, with a first look at our season four couple.

Bridgerton is a Regency-era romance series based on the novels by New York Times bestselling author Julia Quinn, adapted for television by producer Shonda Rhimes. Each book follows one of the eight siblings from a wealthy, aristocratic British family.

The series took creative liberties with the book when it decided to change the order of the Bridgerton romances for season 3, placing the romance between Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington-Bridgerton (Nicola Coughlan) ahead of the love story of the bohemian second son, Benedict (Luke Thompson).

As they did in 2021, Netflix renewed Bridgerton in chunks. Then, the series was renewed for seasons two through 4 simultaneously. Now, the streaming service has shared that they will return to Mayfair for seasons five and six as well.

Along with the renewal news, Netflix gave fans their first official glimpse of season 4. The brief clips show love at first sight for infamous bachelor Benedict.

What is Bridgerton Season 4 about?

Minor Spoiler for An Offer From a Gentleman

Season 4 is based on Quinn’s third Regency Cinderella novel, An Offer from a Gentleman. While attending a masquerade, Benedict becomes besotted with a woman in silver, who runs away before he can learn her real name.

That woman is Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha), maid to her step-sisters Rosamund Li (Michelle Mao) and Posy Li (Isabella Wei), and her stepmother, Lady Araminta Gun (Katie Leung).

If Netflix follows the book order, season 5 will focus on the love story between the fiercely independent Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) and Sir Philip Crane (Chris Fulton).

Season 6 will be a twist with the gender swapping of Francesca Bridgerton-Sterling’s (Hannah Dodd) love interest from Michael into Michaela Stirling (Masali Baduza).

Those who can count will notice that there are still two siblings left. While Hyacinth (Florence Hunt) and Gregory (Will Tilston) are still on the younger end of things compared to their siblings, this does bode well for the potential of a seventh and eighth season for Bridgerton.

Bridgerton season four is set to premiere in 2026 on Netflix.
