Crumbl Brings Back Its Viral Pumpkin Cake Cookie
As autumn approaches, it’s time to welcome the annual pumpkin spice season. This week, Crumbl Cookies dropped one of its seasonal desserts. Although the treat has been offered for a few years, it is not an official annual fall dessert. Like every confection, the company rotates its offerings every week, including seasonal ones. While I was scrolling through Crumbl’s app on Sunday, my eyes landed on the Cookie Pumpkin Cake Cookie. I could feel my taste buds react, as though I could already taste it. Immediately, I knew I wanted to try it. The following day, I headed to my location and snagged one using my gift card.
What Is The Crumbl Pumpkin Cake Cookie?
This warm pumpkin cookie has a fluffy texture infused with pumpkin spice. The top has a layer of cream cheese swirl and a sprinkle of mini chocolate chips. Since its inception, the bakery company has released variations of pumpkin-related desserts in time for the season, including the Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookie and the Pumpkin Roll Cookie. It wasn’t until October 5, 2020, that they announced this newest addition.
“You’ve got to try our NEW Pumpkin Cake cookie! A warm pumpkin spice cookie with cream cheese topping and sprinkled with mini chocolate chips,” they revealed in an Instagram post.
Since then, the cookie has reappeared nearly every fall—and it has returned earlier than expected.
The Taste Test
As I opened my pink to-go box, the cookie cake looked exactly like the photo: a round, pumpkin cloud layered in cream cheese and mini chocolate sprinkles. When I sank my teeth into the cake, I was greeted with a soft, fluffy texture. The cinnamon ginger flavors lingered on my palate while the cream cheese frosting combined into a balanced blend of sweet and spicy. Every bite reminded me of a spicy pumpkin pie, comforting my soul while evoking the season of autumn. The mini chocolate chips felt optional, as they didn’t add much to the overall flavor.
Would I Buy This Again?
