‘Love Island USA’ Winners Trinity and Bryce Spill All

Trinity Tatum and Bryce Alakai have plenty to say, and in a new exclusive interview with People, the ‘Love Island USA’ Season 8 winners stated all of it.

The couple, crowned champions of the season and awarded the $100,000 prize, sat down for their first in-depth conversation since leaving the villa, covering their plans to move in together, the age gap that dominated early conversation about them, and the “fake love” chatter that followed their win.

‘Love Island USA’ Closing the Distance

The headline for fans is a practical one: long distance may not last long.

Speaking with People, the pair confirmed they are actively discussing living in the same city, with Trinity relocating to Los Angeles, where Bryce is based.

“It’s a very high chance,” Trinity stated of the move. “I don’t want to do long distance.”

Bryce stated they are doing everything they can to stay together, and that he hopes Trinity will move in with him once she has settled into California life.

On the ‘Fake Love’ Comments

Not everyone celebrated their win. In the aftermath of the July 12 finale, comments circulated online questioning whether their connection was genuine, with one shouted remark during a livestream describing their romance as “fake love.”

Bryce’s response, given to People, was admirably unbothered.

“We don’t care,” he stated. Pressed further, he offered something more generous than most would in his position. “You can’t blame people. It is a show. It makes sense why people could think something like that. But like I said, we genuinely don’t care.”

Trinity echoed him, and added a gracious note of her own: that they still love their fellow finalist Sincere.

Trinity’s Airtight Rebuttal

For anyone still unconvinced, Trinity offered the evidence, and it is difficult to argue with.

“Twelve guys came into Casa Amor,” she told People. “If I was faking it, I would’ve left. You have opportunities to get with different people, and we just chose not to. I can’t fake anything. Honestly, I just say my intrusive thoughts. I’m happy where I’m at.”

Bryce’s version of the same test carried its own risk. Returning from Casa Amor alone meant he could well have been eliminated from the show, and he did it anyway, choosing his heart over the safer strategic play. He came back, asked Trinity to be his girlfriend, and the two went on to become the only couple that season to exchange “I love you” during the finale.

How It Actually Started

The pair also walked People through the mechanics of a romance that unfolded rather more deliberately than the edit suggested. Bryce explained they intentionally kept things friendly in the early days, letting their feelings develop naturally rather than forcing anything. Trinity said the turning point came with an honest conversation in which she made clear she wanted more than friendship.

As for the eight-year age gap that generated so much early discussion, both have been consistent that it stopped registering almost immediately. Speaking on TODAY shortly after the finale, Bryce described Trinity as the most mature person in the villa, saying her intelligence and humor made the difference disappear from his mind entirely. Trinity’s response was simpler still: she honestly forgets.
