Dolly Parton New ‘Dolly Dolls’ Sold Out Fast, More are on the Way
Dolly Parton and her sparkle is shining brighter than ever. Just weeks after the beloved Queen of Country passed away at 80, a new line of collectible “Dolly Dolls” has arrived to celebrate her larger-than-life legacy, and fans made them disappear almost instantly. Best of all, the project was one Parton championed herself before her death.
The New Dolly Parton ‘Dolly Dolls’
Released on September 15 through the Dolly Archive in partnership with Integrity Toys, the first drop featured three limited-edition, 12-inch collectible dolls, each re-creating one of Parton’s most iconic looks: Dreamin’ in Gingham, World on Fire, and Diamond in a Rhinestone World. Priced between roughly $165 and $185, the two designs released online were quickly snapped up by fans, with resale listings climbing into the hundreds.
The dolls were created in celebration of Parton’s new Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum, and the project was deeply personal to the star. As her niece Rebecca Ann Seaver, the museum’s executive director, shared, the idea began when she asked Parton directly if they could create a doll line with Integrity for the museum’s opening. Parton gave the project her blessing and worked with her team and Integrity Toys on the collection for more than a year, personally signing off on each design and even getting to see the finished dolls before her passing, a moment Seaver described as one of the most special of her life.
Answering the Fan Response
With such a small first run, many fans were disappointed to miss out, and some shared thoughts on how closely the glamorous dolls resembled Parton. Seaver addressed both, noting that this initial release was essentially a test run, and that more designs are already on the way in the coming year.
As for the look, she explained that the dolls were always meant to capture Parton’s dazzling, glamorous spirit rather than serve as an exact replica. It was a vision Parton herself embraced, having long loved seeing herself in that sparkling, larger-than-life doll form. Fittingly, her love of dolls traces all the way back to her very first song, written as a child about a corn-husk doll her mother made her.
A New Home for Dolly’s Legacy
The crown jewel of the collection is Diamond in a Rhinestone World, a rhinestone-covered white suit doll made exclusively for shoppers at the museum. It is modeled after a costume Parton wears in a virtual concert performance she filmed this past spring, which will play inside the museum, so visitors can take home a piece of that experience.
Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum is scheduled to open September 29 in Nashville, and a limited number of the online dolls have been set aside for the grand opening.
