Cam Newton Makes Confusing Analogy During Press Conference
What could he have possibly meant?
Sunday marked a big day for Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers as they came out victorious against division rival the Atlanta Falcons, staying within a half game behind the New Orleans Saints for the divisional lead.
However, getting the W may not have been the biggest storyline to come from the game. Following the game during the team’s usual post-game press conference, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton seemed to have stolen the show with a very interesting analogy. Newton compared his team’s victory and their direction going forward to The Titanic, stating,
“We just lost a great player, but nevertheless the Titanic still has to go.”
It is uncertain what Newton really meant by this. Is it perhaps a foreshadowing of Carolina’s ship soon sinking? It could also be possible that Newton has never completed watching The Titanic. Either way, whether you’re a gambler or not, it may be a bit difficult investing in the Panther’s future success when trying to interpret the puzzling mystery Cam Newton has left us with.

My name is Kelsey Comeaux, I’m currently a Senior at McNeese State University, majoring in Mass Communications with a concentration in New Media. I’ve always had an interest in creative media arts as well as music (four years private piano lessons) and slightly self taught acoustic guitarist ;) I remember making movies on my dad’s “Windows Movie Maker” growing up and showing them to my friends and family. Building on emotion and presenting an important message through my projects was such a fulfilling experience. I hope to do that on a wider base one day.
Other than that, I love sports and am naturally a competitive spirit. I love to go running for fun, as weird as that sounds; it’s such a great release for me during stressful times. I also enjoy writing, short fiction is my expertise, as well as reading various novels mostly consisting of Science Fiction and Romance. Anything dealing with an adrenaline rush involving the outdoors I’m game for. I’m here to explore, love wildly, feel passionately, and have diligence deriving from the soul.
