Jada Pinkett-Smith Has Something to Say About The Golden Globes
The comedy follows four black women taking a trip to New Orleans where they rekindle their friendship.
Smith, who played Lisa Cooper in the film, had a lot to say about the film missing out on a Golden Globes nomination.
Girls Trip was one of the most successful films this summer & Tiff was hands down the funniest person on screen in 2017 and we couldn’t get eyes on the film or a press conference. How could a nom happen & how much more critical acclaim must a movie have to simply get a screening?

The actress also brought attention to both The Big Sick and Get Out. The Big Sick, which missed out on a nomination as well, followed an interracial couple that isn’t initially accepted by the lead character’s Pakistani family. As for Get Out, it did receive a nomination, but in the comedy category.
Moments like this occur so that we have an opportunity to discuss, recreate and regenerate old paradigms. It’s all about growth. Love.

Back in 2016, Jada boycotted the Oscar’s due to a lack of diversity in the nominations then. She has not announced a change in her attendance status for the Golden Globes as of now.
