Malala Yousafzai Calls for FATA Reforms in Recent Tweet
The Nobel Peace Prize recipient continues to use a public platform to advocate for human rights in a video uploaded to Twitter.
It is not hard to understand why Malala continues to stand as a feminist icon for girls across the world. In a video posted on December 26, Malala states that the people living in FATA (Federally Administered Tribal Areas) in Pakistan deserve just human and constitutional rights. For decades, the government has deprived them of these. Therefore, it must take action to enact reformations immediately. One particular action she calls for is the merging of the FATA into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The people of FATA, in the north-west of Pakistan, have been deprived of their human and constitutional rights for decades.
I stand with @FataYouthJirga and demand the government to pass FATA reforms ASAP and merge FATA into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. pic.twitter.com/bqOSwyhyPV

In response, the FATA Youth Jirga Twitter account thanked Malala for using her voice to advocate for a people whose own voices often go unheard.
