‘SNL’s’ Back and We Don’t Know If 2018 Is Ready for It
Saturday Night Live has released their hosts and musical guests for January and kicked off the year with Sam Rockwell and Halsey.
Picking up a Golden Globe last Sunday, for Best Supporting Actor, for his role in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, the actor took the stage in studio 8H. This was Rockwell’s first time hosting the 42-year-old program, and it was a big night as the show returns from its winter hiatus. The episode also featured SNL veterans Fred Armisen and Bill Murray.
Rockwell was joined by musical guest Halsey. While Halsey just wrapped up a tour of her own, we were not surprised when her beau G-Eazy joined the stage with her. After all, their single “Him & I” continues to climb the charts.
As for the rest of this month, NBC has announced that next weekend Molly’s Game’s Jessica Chastain is set to host. While Chastain hasn’t strayed into comedy too much, her hosting will be one to watch. She will be accompanied by the musical guest for the evening Troye Sivan. Thereafter, on January 27, former SNL alum Will Ferrell will return to host for his fourth time. One of the biggest names to come from Lorne Michael’s hit, Ferrell was a cast member from 1995 – 2002. The vet will be joined by musical guest Chris Stapleton.
