Aly Raisman Sues the US Olympic Committee and USA Gymnastics
Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman takes legal action and sues the U.S. Olympic Committee as well as USA Gymnastics.
After the emotional rollercoaster that Larry Nassar took many girls on in his sexual abuse trial, Aly Raisman has decided to sue the U.S. Olympic Committee and USA Gymnastics.
In a statement to NBC News, the gymnast said, “I refuse to wait any longer for these organizations to do the right thing. It is my hope that the legal process will hold them accountable and enable the change that is so desperately needed.”
In the statement that was released on Wednesday, Raisman claimed that the USOC and U.S. Gymnastics should have known about the abuse, but put “their quest for money and medals above the safety.” She also has been informed and believes that the USOC was aware “at the highest levels of its organization” that Larry Nassar was a danger.
During an interview with CNN, she talked about much of the higher-ups in USA Gymnastics and the U.S. Olympic Committee and how they only care about reputation and money.
