How to Look for Reasonable Travel Prices
Traveling is a great way to see more of the world around you.
While many of us enjoy the state that we live in, it’s always good to be exposed to new cultures, people and cities. The only issue with this is trying to fly for a low price since tickets and hotels are so expensive. There are many resources you can use to help book flights and look for nice places to stay while traveling.
For flights, these are two examples of sites you can use:
Skyscanner: This search engine is similar to Kayak, Expedia and Hotline but while some of these sites include bundling with car rentals and hotels, this is used primarily for flights.
Scott’s Cheap Flights: A subscription service that shows you different destinations at different prices for various amounts of time. The only catch is that you can’t choose when you want to go.
Another option would be to book a one-way ticket to your destination and book your return ticket while there. Sometimes the price ends up being cheaper in another country than in your own.
If you’re looking for a place to stay, here are some cheaper but beneficial options:
Airbnb: Staying with a local will give you a better feel and recommendations of what to see and do in the area and can also be a cheaper option than staying in a hotel or hostel. It also gives a brief summary of what the BnB is near as well as any additional fees the host may charge.
HostelWorld: This website helps narrow down hostels and sometimes BnB’s within the city you’re going to stay. It lists all the benefits and amenities each hostel offers and how close it is to local attractions.
Staying in either of these places allows you to meet people from all over the world and even have them as an excuse to return to that place or travel together.
If you’re a cruise goer, there’s also CruiseCompete, which consists of different agencies competing for the best price of a cruise trip.
