Instagram Finally Makes Feed More Chronological for Users

Two years ago, the social media site began to stop showing photos to users by order of when they were posted, and people were not happy.

Rather than show posts in chronological order, Instagram tweaked its algorithm so that posts thought to be more relevant to the user were highlighted in their feed. Pretty much from the moment that Instagram changed its algorithm people began to complain.

Luckily for users, Instagram has changed its algorithm so that “newer posts are more likely to appear first in the feed.” In a press release, the company stated, “With these changes, your feed will feel more fresh, and you won’t miss the moments you care about. So if your best friend shares a selfie from her vacation in Australia, it will be waiting for you when you wake up.”

However, the feed will not go back to complete reverse chronological order.
