The Lizzie McGuire Movie Is 15 Years Old

Lizzie McGuire had an insane Italian adventure 15 years ago.
The iconic Disney Channel movie hit theaters on May 2, 2003.
Lizzie McGuire, played by Hilary Duff, was a spunky, accident-prone teen who dealt with boy problems, friendship woes and getting a bra. Lizzie first appeared in The Lizzie McGuire sitcom, which celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2016.
The movie, which wrapped up Lizzie Mcguire’s story, centers around the eighth-grade graduate as she impersonates Italian pop star Isabella Parigi, falls for Isabella’s co-star Paolo Valisari, and tries not to get caught doing so while on her graduation trip to Rome.
Even though Lizzie got caught and Paolo was a fraud, the movie championed girl power and #teamgordo got their happy ending.
Like most Lizzie McGuire fans, we’re hopeful that the series and movie will one day find their way to Netflix. As Lizzie sang in the movie, “This is what dreams are made of.”
