Busy Philipps Gets a Late-Night Show on E!
Philipps’ new show, Busy Tonight, will break through into the male-dominated realm of late-night television.
The Freaks and Geeks star will become one of only four female late-night hosts in the business, joining the ranks of Samantha Bee of Full Frontal with Samantha Bee (TBS), Sarah Silverman of I Love You, America (Hulu), and Robin Thede of The Rundown with Robin Thede (BET). She told E! News, “I am so excited to bring this show to E!. I think there’s, you know, plenty of space for another female voice in late-night, and I’m so happy that E! is so supportive of female talent.”
The show will consist of celebrity interviews in part, but ultimately, as Philipps added, “It’s my perspective on things.” Viewers will get a look into her world that differs from what she shares on her social media platforms.
She mentioned to E! that she and her husband have discussed boundaries in regard to what she posts about her two daughters, Birdie and Cricket, so we can assume that she will also leave her family out of her late-night content for the most part.
