Beyoncé’s Holy Purchase
It’s time to take our Beyoncé worship to a higher level.
Like the parishioners of San Francisco’s Grace Cathedral, who attended a special mass last month devoted to Beyoncé music and accomplishments, some people find listening to Beyoncé is a religious experience.
Perhaps this was the “Halo” singer’s inspiration behind her recent acquisition of an old church in New Orleans.
According to TMZ, Beyoncé purchased an $850,000 old church that had not been in use for some time.
While a dying membership contributed to the church being shut down, the 7,500 sq. ft house of worship will likely be filled to the brim under Queen Bey’s ownership.
It is unclear what role Solange will have in her sister’s new undertaking, but the more than 100-year-old building is near her New Orleans home.
Beyoncé was candid about her religious beliefs in her Life Is But a Dream documentary, but there’s no word yet on whether or not she intends to have the property function as a church.
If the church of Beyoncé does operate as a holy house, we see the Bey-hive turning the Bey-related sermons into weekly fashion and musical events to rival the grandeur of the royal wedding.
