With prom season winding down and fewer prom pictures on the gram, Yara Shahidi’s followers were shook when she unexpectedly posted a photo with the caption, “Prom or album cover art circa 2003.”
Serving early 2000s R&B looks, The Grown-ish lead actress and her date, a fellow actor who happens to be the son of her on-screen dad, Anthony Anderson, looked stunning in a multicolored sequined dress and bold red tux.
Yara’s tea-length shift dress contrasts the short, 80s-esque ensemble her character Zoey wore doing her freshman formal, proving that Yara can make any era of clothing look effortlessly glamorous.
While the two did not address comments asking about their relationship status, if their Instagram stories were anything to go by, the pair had as good a time as they looked together.
