Starbucks and Inclusivity
Starbucks is now opening their doors to everyone. Even to customers who decide to not purchase anything.
After the incident that occurred with the two Black men that were both arrested at the Starbucks in Philadelphia last April, Starbucks has been trying to find new ways to make their customers feel more comfortable.
Starbucks announced their new policy allowing customers to come in to sit within in the cafe and use their restrooms without having to purchase food or drink. This policy was placed after the event with the two Philadelphia men that were arrested after asking to use the Starbucks restroom without purchasing anything.
After the incident that took place, Starbucks wrote a tweet saying this message to their customers,
We apologize to the two individuals and our customers for what took place at our Philadelphia store on Thursday. pic.twitter.com/suUsytXHks

This month, across the U.S., Starbucks is planning to close all company-owned locations on May 29th, 2018 which will be dedicated to providing their employees with racial-bias training so that events like this do not reoccur. These are the ways that Starbucks plans to be inclusive to all of their customers for the future of their business.
