Pete Davidson Slams Critics of Dating with Mental Illness
Having Borderline Personality Disorder doesn’t mean that Pete Davidson “can’t be happy and in a relationship.”
Rumors of Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande casually dating have taken over social media since they each became single earlier this month.
While neither Davidson or Grande has confirmed the relationship, Instagram users can find them in each other’s comments, and apparently, they have matching cloud tattoos on their left hands.
Taking to his Instagram story last night, the SNL comedian addressed critics of the potential relationship who questioned his ability to maintain a healthy relationship because of his bipolar personality disorder (BPD).

“Normally I wouldn’t comment on something like this cause like fuck you. But I been hearing a lot of ‘people with bpd can’t be in relationships’ talk. I just wanna let you know that’s not true,” wrote Davidson. “Just because someone has a mental illness does not mean they can’t be happy and in a relationship. It also doesn’t mean that person makes the relationship toxic. Everybody is different and there are a lot of treatments for mental illnesses and I have done/am doing all of them. And I encourage those who struggle to seek help as well it has changed my life for the better.”
Davidson went on to point out how unfair it is to label a person as crazy and make the assumption that they are incapable of “do[ing] stuff that anyone can do. It’s not their fault and it’s the wrong way for people to look at things.”
Ending his note with a simple message of love, he wrote, “For all those struggling I want you to know that I love you and I understand you and it is going to be okay. That’s all. Love to everyone else.”
