Yara Shahidi and Charles Melton Will Star in ‘The Sun Is Also a Star’
Yara Shahidi is set to film The Sun Is Also a Star with Riverdale actor Charles Melton.
The film is based on the Nicola Yoon novel, The Sun Is Also a Star. Shahidi and Melton will play opposite to one another as Natasha and Daniel Bae, a son of Korean immigrants. The movie will focus on the characters lover story as Natasha falls for Daniel Bae during unfortunate timing as she is about to be deported back to Jamaica.
Melton shared his excitement for the role on Instagram, detailing how important the story is for him. It will be his first major role in a fil yet.
If you swoon for forbidden love or liked Everything, Everything, then you will probably like The Sun Is Also a Star as Nicola Yoon has written both of the novels. Girls Trip Tracy Oliver adapted the book to film. The Sun Is Also a Star will be in theaters May 17th, 2019.
