Disney Channel’s Iconic Movie Series, Cheetah Girls, Turns Fifteen
Cheetah Girls. Cheetah Sisters.
Fifteen years ago, on August 15, Disney Channel debuted a movie that would forever live in the hearts of the millennial generation. With songs like Cheetah Sisters, and Cinderella from the first movie, The Party’s Just Begun and Amigas Cheetahs from Cheetah Girls 2 and Cheetah Love and Dance Me If You Can from Cheetah Girls 3, the Cheetah Girls became a household name overnight.
Cheetah Girls is the story of friendship, embracing yourself and talent between four Manhattan-based teens whose dream is to make it big in the music industry. The Cheetah Girls was one of the first ethnically diverse movies to premiere on Disney Channel since the network began to release its original movies. Over the course of the three movies, we see Galleria (Raven Symone), Chanel (Adrienne Bailon), Dorinda (Sabrina Bryan) and Aqua (Kiely Williams) triumph through relationships, international travels and the diverse home lives that they live.
Our spots may be different colors, but The Cheetah Girls taught us all that friendships were for life, and no matter what, your Cheetahs have your back. Forever.
