‘The Big Bang Theory’ Will Conclude After Twelve Seasons
The well-beloved CBS comedy sitcom The Big Bang Theory will come to a close in 2019.
Warner Bros. Television, CBS, and Chuck Lorre Productions released a shared statement regarding The Big Bang Theory‘s conclusion: “We are forever grateful to our fans for their support of The Big Bang Theory during the past twelve seasons. We, along with the cast, writers, and crew, are extremely appreciative of the show’s success and aim to deliver a final season, and the series finale, that will bring The Big Bang Theory to an epic creative close.”
The show premiered its first season on CBS on September 24, 2007, and has aired a total of eleven seasons since then. As a result, the show has been credited as the longest-running multi-camera television series throughout history. The show has earned a total of fifty-two Emmy nominations and was awarded ten of them. Unfortunately, the show didn’t receive an Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series. Four of these Emmy Awards were given to Jim Parsons for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. A spin-off series based on Parsons’ character Sheldon Cooper, Young Cooper, premiered last year on CBS.
